We are aware of our responsibility and we only use
fish oil derived from small fish from guaranteed
sustainable and strictly regulated fishing – tested
and certifified according to the strict standards of
„Friend of the Sea“!

600 mg omega-3 fatty acids in a jelly –
containing 362 mg DHA and 148 mg EPA
to guarantee the positive effects of both
omega-3 fatty acids.

Because of an innovative and unique cleaning
process the purity of our fish oil exceeds not
only the legally required EU standards by far,
but also those of the IFOS * 5-star rating &
the demanding self-imposed targets of the
GOED **.

1 mg omega-3 ≠ 1 mg omega-3. The type is
crucial. Our fish oil concentrate consists of 90%
triglycerides. According to studies, this natural form
of the omega-3 fatty acids is up to 400% more
bioavailable than commercially available
Ethyl ester (EE) fish oil concentrates.

The oxidation limits of our oil are more than
half below the limits set by the GOED
(Global Organization for EPA & DHA Omega-3
Fatty Acids). As a result, our oil is neutral, has less tendency to oxidize and
therefore remains tasty even longer.

VABO-N OH!MEGA was developed

This is how VABO-N OH!MEGA Jellys work

Omega-3 fatty acids – you find them throughout your body and they play an important role in all ages of human health. We couldn‘t survive without them! Because the body cannot produce them itself, we have to assimilate it through food. The WHO recommends a minimum daily intake of 250 mg DHA and EPA. The EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) has confirmed following effects of DHA and EPA.

 250 mg EPA+DHA  (1 Jelly)

supports your heart function.

200 mg DHA  (1 Jelly)

The intake by pregnant and breast feeding women of 200 mg DHA  – additionally to the adults recommended daily allowance of 250 mg DHA + EPA – contribute to a normal development of the eyes and brain of the fetus and in the breastfed infant. Since one OH!MEGA Jelly contains 510 mg EPA + DHA this benefit is also covered with only one Jelly.

250 mg DHA  (1 Jelly)

supports your brain function and your eyesight.

 2 g EPA+DHA (4 Jellys)

contribute to a normal level of triglyceride (blood lipid level) in your blood.

 3 g EPA+DHA (6 Jellys)

contribute to the maintenance of a normal blood pressure.

A daily intake of 5 g of DHA and EPA should not be exceeded.

The right ratio of omega-3 and
omega-6 fatty acids counts

Not only the amount of omega-3 that we eat every day, but above all the right ratio between omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids is important to our health – because only with the right ratio of both fatty acids, we do optimally fulfill their effect in our body. While an imbalance chargeable to omega-3 leades silent inflammation and typical lifestyle diseases, a good ratio operates anti-inflammatory, improves the flow properties of the blood, has a positive effect on blood pressure and much more.

However the industrialization of food increased the amount of omega-6 fatty acids on our daily meal plan. A rising imbalance in the intake between omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids was the result. Instead of the ideal ratio of the omega-6 to omega-3 of 3:1, the actual intake of Europeans today is on average a 12:1.

Advantages of our technology:

Up to 44% higher bioavailabilty in comparison to softgel capsules
  • While the products in capsule or oil form only form an emulsion in the stomach, we have already melted billions of tiny oil droplets into an emulsion in every jelly.
  • This billion of droplets results in a larger contact area, which makes the oil more accessible to the digestive enzymes in the intestine (e.g. lipases), making it easier and more efficient to process and absorb. However, if the oil comes in a capsule or as a liquid, the availability for the enzymes is less.
No annoying aftertaste and eructating
  • With conventional dosage forms, an “oil layer” forms on the surface of the stomach, which leads to an unpleasant aftertaste in the mouth and reflux. This cannot happen with our jellys. The billions of droplets are fixed in the jelly in a gelatin matrix, which only melts in the stomach at 35 ° C and only releases the oil droplets there.
  • The droplets mix quickly and effectively through the peristaltic movements with the other stomach contents.
  • This is in contrast to liquids or capsules, which takes longer to mix and then lie as an oil layer on the top of the stomach and causes unpleasant taste in the mouth and reflux.
  • You can take the jellys without water.
  • Tastes delicious and small size.
  • Also children like it very much.
  • Easy to take with you.
  • No unnecessary sugar.

Our oil concentrate with 90% triglyceride content

Fish oil concentrates are often described as inferior to unconcentrated fish oil. All that matters is that the omega-3 fatty acids are built into their natural matrix – in triglyceride form.

For a better understanding: There are 3 different types of fish oil (concentrates).

  • Unconcentrated fish oil from triglycerides, as it occurs in fish.
  • Ethyl ester (EE) oil concentrate – contains no triglyceride.
  • Re-esterified triglyceride fish oil concentrate, which usually has 50-60% triglyceride content. Our amount of 90% is exceptionally high.

Because the process of re-esterification is a very expensive and time-consuming step, many manufacturers leave it with the ethyl ester. We take the step – because the advantages are all worth it:

  • Oil concentrates with a high triglyceride content have a 400% higher bioavailability than EE oil concentrates.

    What does that mean?
A much larger proportion of the EPA and DHA contained in triglyceride fish oil concentrate is absorbed and used by the body.

  • Triglyceride fish oil concentrate oxidizes more slowly than EE fish oil!

    What does that mean?
Oxidation means that a molecule breaks down chemically and becomes unusable in the case of food supplements. Various studies have shown that EE fish oil concentrates oxidize faster at any temperature than triglyceride fish oil concentrates. So they last longer than EE fish oil concentrates.

  • Triglyceride fish oil concentrates are significantly more efficient in lowering circulating blood triglyceride values than EE fish oil concentrates.

    What does that mean?
Besides cholesterol, triglycerides are the most important blood lipids. Circulating triglyceride levels in the blood are therefore an important cardiovascular risk marker. Elevated triglycerides increase the risk of a heart attack. Too much alcohol, rapidly absorbable carbohydrates (such as table sugar) and a lot of dietary fat increase the triglyceride value.

Why linseed oil alone is not enough.

Linseed oil does contain the vegetable omega-3 fatty acid ALA (Alpha Linolenic Acid), however, this has not the above described effects on your health. Your body can convert ALA to EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid), which our body is able to synthesize to DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), but only in small quantities. The conversion rate from ALA to EPA and further to DHA fluctuates strongly from person to person and depends on different factors (age, gender, change of substance, etc.).

In the worst case, one assumes that less than 10% converts to EPA and only about 0.5% to DHA.

This means specifically: To receive just 362 mg of DHA, you would need to consume about 132 ml linseed oil, 330 g linseeds or take 1 super tasty jelly – the decision is easy, right?

Omega-3 fatty acids:

Omega-3-fatty acids belong to the group of the polyunsaturated fatty acids. Because the body cannot produce them itself, we have to assimilate it through food.

Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) are besides Alpha-Linolenic acid (ALA) two out of three omega-3-fatty acids. In comparison to ALA DHA and EPA are biologically particularly active.

Because DHA und EPA operate differently and we wanted to assure the advantages of both of them, we decided on a combination on both in the Jelly.
